Advantages of SCR DeNOx Catalyst

Injection of urea solution: The urea solution is injected into the exhaust gas stream. The heat from the exhaust gas converts the urea into ammonia (NH₃) and carbon dioxide (CO₂).
Mixing and reaction: The exhaust gas, now containing ammonia, passes through a catalyst. This catalyst is usually made of materials such as titanium oxide (TiO₂), vanadium (V₂O₅), or other suitable catalytic materials.
Reuction reaction: In the presence of the catalyst, the ammonia reacts with the nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the exhaust gas. This chemical reaction converts the NOx into nitrogen (N₂) and water (H₂O), both of which are harmless. The overall reaction can be simplified as follows:
4NO + 4NH₃ + O₂ → 4N₂ + 6H₂O
6NO₂ + 8NH₃ → 7N₂ + 12H₂O
Emission of clean gas: The resulting mixture, now containing harmless nitrogen and water vapor, is emitted from the exhaust system.

Particulate Matter (PM)
These tiny particles can penetrate deep into the lungs and are a serious health risk. SCR DeNOx Catalysts help to trap and burn off these particles.
Hydrocarbons (HCs)
Unburned fuels that form toxic compounds. An SCR DeNOx Catalyst, in conjunction with other treatments like Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs), can reduce the release of HCs.
Nitrogen Oxides (NOx)
NO and NO2 emissions contribute to the formation of smog and acid rain. The core function of SCR DeNOx Catalyst is to reduce these NOx emissions.
